Countless activities are available for both the young and young-at-heart. A number of which include: walking and biking trails, fishing, swimming, golfing, boating, sight-seeing trips, nightlife, casino cruises, sunset cruises, watercraft rentals and so much more. Hop on board the Suncoast Beach Trolley at the Don CeSar, St. Pete Beach's famous pink hotel, and spend the day exploring and touring Florida's Gulf beaches. All of which are easily accessible at every stop. Treat yourself or the family to the "catch of the day" at one of the many beachside restaurants. Take a break from the sun and sand and peruse the unique shops and numerous tourist attractions up and down our beautiful coastline. If theme park adventures are what you had in mind, Busch Gardens is a short 45 minute drive from the island or visit Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios all of which are less than 2 hours away.
Set aside a day and visit downtown St. Petersburg during your stay, where you'll find there's something for everyone. Stroll along the waterfront's Beach Drive which is bursting with diverse galleries and "al fresco" dining at a variety of upscale restaurants. Don't pass up a visit to Sundial, the city's newest venture. Located in the heart of downtown, Sundial is St. Petersburg's premiere retail, dining and entertainment center. And as always, the newly remodeled Dali Museum and renowned Museum of Fine Arts are must sees.
For visiting sports fans, the choice is endless. Tropicana Field home of the Tampa Bay Rays is a short 15 minute drive from Isla or just north on Interstate 275 is Raymond James Stadium and Amalie Arena home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Lightning. The Tampa Bay area is also home to the Rowdies of the North American Soccer League, minor league baseball and MLB Spring Training.
